How to get your exchange API key

Step-by-step for each exchange KOLBridge can API-verify. Use read-only / affiliate permissions only — never trade or withdraw. Checks are point-in-time; we do not monitor volume continuously.

  • KOLBridge uses your key once server-side for a point-in-time check, then discards it. We never store the secret — only a masked last-4 of the key on success.
  • Never paste API keys into chat, email, or X DMs — including to support@kolbridge.xyz. Use the in-app Verify volume form only.
  • Never enable withdraw or trade permissions. Read-only / affiliate-only is enough.
  • After verification you may revoke the key on the exchange if you prefer.
  • HTX and other exchanges without a usable public affiliate volume API stay upload-only for now (manual review).

Portal: Bybit Affiliates · Open

Before you start: You must already be an approved Bybit affiliate (master UID). Regular trading accounts cannot call affiliate endpoints.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Bybit Affiliates portal (affiliates.bybit.com) with your affiliate master account.
  2. On the Bybit website (not the app), open API Management: Profile → API, or go to bybit.com/app/user/api-management.
  3. Click Create New Key. Complete 2FA when prompted.
  4. Under permissions, tick only "Affiliate". Bybit requires affiliate keys to have Affiliate alone — remove Spot, Derivatives, Wallet, Withdraw, and every other permission.
  5. Copy the API key and secret once (the secret is shown only at creation).

Permissions

Affiliate only. Do not enable trading, transfers, or withdrawal. No passphrase.

Passphrase: Not required for this exchange.

HTX stays upload-only for now — there is no usable public affiliate volume API for KOLs, so use manual proof on your profile instead.

Quick answers

How is a KOL's volume actually verified?

Two tiers: "API-verified" means volume was pulled live from the exchange's affiliate API (read-only keys, never stored) at verification time. "Manually reviewed" means a human checked uploaded evidence before approval. Both are dated, point-in-time checks — see the Trust & Verification page for details. Step-by-step key guides are above.

Can a KOL fake the verified badge?

No. Badges are granted only through admin-gated approval — there is no self-serve path, and buying a subscription alone never grants one. A KOL who hasn't passed verification simply carries no badge.

Who can see my volume proof files?

Only the review process. The server strips proof files from all public API responses, so exchanges see your badge and tier — never your uploaded documents.

How do exchanges know a KOL is real?

Check the badge and its tier: API-verified volume came from the exchange's own affiliate API; manually reviewed means human-checked evidence. Each verification is dated, and unverified KOLs have no badge at all.

What do exchanges pay to contact a KOL?

Nothing per contact — there are no unlock or per-request fees. Access requests and messaging are included in a paid exchange membership, and the KOL approves or declines each one.

Does it cost anything to list as a KOL?

No. Listing is free, permanently — a live profile, volume proof review, and unlimited incoming access requests cost nothing. Affiliate Plus ($49/mo) is optional and only adds priority placement and advanced analytics; it never buys a verified badge.

What do exchanges pay for?

The directory. Any exchange can preview a sample of profiles free, with volume shown as ranges. BD Access ($299/mo) unlocks the full directory, exact volume and audience figures, and the ability to request contact.

Do subscriptions auto-renew?

No. A paid plan runs for 30 days and then lapses on its own — there is no stored card and nothing recurring. You renew when you choose, and renewing early adds to your remaining days rather than replacing them.
